Our History
The team within BA Training Solutions have been designing and delivering business analysis training courses since 2002. Our initial offering was the ‘Fundamentals of Business Analysis’ course, designed to take those new to the role and give them the skills and knowledge to work as a business analyst in the real world. This course is still one of our most popular courses and has been developed and improved over many years. It now includes the BCS Requirements Engineering exam and also reflects the use of agile in projects.
Since 2005, we have been accredited by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, and also work with high-quality partners to offer APMG courses. We limit the range of accredited courses that we offer, so that we can focus on those that provide the most value back in the workplace.
We are one of a small number of accredited exam providers for BCS Requirements Engineering, BCS Business Analysis Practice and BCS Modelling Business Processes. Being an exam provider means that if you attend a classroom course with us, the exam will be set and marked by us. This allows us to ensure that course content is always focussed where possible on real-world application, rather than ‘passing the exam’.
We are happy to tailor the content of any business analysis course for on-site/in-house delivery and also offer flexible options where a course of 3-5 days can be run over several weeks avoiding excessive disruption in the workplace. We also offer the option of virtual course delivery for the majority of our public and on-site courses.
The focus of our business analysis training is always on teaching and developing skills and techniques that can be applied in the workplace – one of our enduring axioms is ‘never teach without context’, and we try to apply this during all of our courses, both classroom and virtual.
Over 80% of our course delegates are repeat customers with some our clients sending their new business analysts on our Fundamentals of Business Analysis course since 2004.
We work with small, medium and large corporates, public sector organisations like the NHS as well as individuals funding their own development. We run extensive training and development programmes for business change teams and occasionally support BA recruitment and consultancy.
We pride ourselves on our unique and flexible approach. We constantly fine-tune and improve our courseware ensuring that it is always relevant to the real-world.
Our Mission
Our mission is to ensure delivery of real organisational benefits through effective business analysis. Our training courses are not delivered by ‘trained trainers’ but by tutors with real world experience of working as business analysts and project managers within business change projects. We do not advertise ‘ghost’ courses in multiple locations with no intention of ever running them – 95% of our scheduled courses run where and when we advertise them to run. If for any reason a course does not run as scheduled you will be given the option to transfer to another course or receive a full refund.
As well as providing business analysts with the key skills to effectively contribute to business change projects, our business analysis training courses coach delegates in developing a business analyst ‘mindset’ that delivers the right result first time with minimal cost and maximum benefit.
Our Courses
Developed over the last two decades and under continuous enhancement, our business analysis training courses reflect the demands of business change projects. We focus on the practical application of business analysis techniques in the workplace rather than learning ‘how to pass the exam’.
The focus of our training is on business analysis within a project environment, initially supporting the assessment of change proposals, assisting the development of business cases, defining the scope and objectives of the project, documenting the requirements for change and then supporting both the technical and business delivery of those changes. We focus on the business analyst’s responsibilities as a change facilitator throughout the business change lifecycle regardless of whether the organisation is ‘agile’ or using traditional/hybrid project approaches.
We limit the number of delegates on all our courses (including virtual) to a maximum of 10 in order to maximise the levels of delegate involvement and tutor support.
