This 3-day course covers the syllabus and exam for the BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Change.

Course summary

The certificate is based upon a business change lifecycle which incorporates the techniques, frameworks and models used. The certificate is relevant for anyone who requires an understanding of frameworks for organisational change.

Delivery Method 

Classroom and virtual. This course is not available in our public schedule but is available for on-site delivery.

Our virtual classroom training courses are delivered via Zoom. Online BCS exams will also require use of Zoom and installation of exam software on the delegates laptop of desktop PC.

Course Tutors

Our course tutors are practising business analysts and project managers with at least 5 years training delivery experience.

Suitable for

This Foundation Certificate is for people who want to understand how a business should undertake change. This includes relevant processes, frameworks and techniques. Suitable for Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts, Project Managers, Business Managers, Programme Managers and Product Owners.

This certification provides a foundation to progress to the range of practitioner level BCS modular certificates, such as Requirements Engineering, Business Analysis Practice and Modelling Business Processes. Please note however that it is not a pre-requisite for taking a practitioner level certificate.

Course preparation

The syllabus for this course and exam is based on several different publications. On-site clients wishing to run this course will be provided with our recommendations on whether to purchase any of these at the time of booking.

Courses take place 09:00 – 17:00 each day.

BCS Examination and Accreditation Details

To support preparation for taking the exam we provide delegates with two sample exam papers during the course.

The exam is taken on the final afternoon of the course.

The format of the examination is a one-hour closed-book multiple-choice examination consisting of 40 questions. Candidates need to achieve a minimum of 26 marks out of 40 to pass the examination. Candidates who are awarded a pass for the examination are awarded the BCS Foundation Certificate in Business Change.

 Part of the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis

The Foundation Certificate in Business Change can be used as the knowledge-based specialism towards the BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis. To obtain the full Diploma, candidates must also obtain the two core modules and a Practitioner specialism module. Candidates must also take a one-hour oral exam directly with the BCS – The Chartered Institute for IT, following successful completion of the four modules.
